Singapore Visa Information
Citizens of the EU, the United States of America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Israel do not need visas for short visits to Singapore. A “visit pass” is issued to these passengers upon arrival. If you wish to stay past the expiration date of your visit pass, you can extend it to up to 90 days online.
Nationals of India, Hong Kong, and Macau, among others, are required to get a visa to Singapore before they leave their country of origin.
Since Singapore is a large transit hub and wants to attract as much business as possible, it makes special allowances for transit passengers who would normally need a visa to visit Singapore. Visa-free transit facilities are available to CIS nationals and citizens of India and the People’s Republic of China who fulfill certain requirements. People who meet these prerequisites are allowed to stay in Singapore for 96 hours, with no extensions allowed.
